House Blends Variety Kit

$25.00

Not sure where to begin? You're in the right place.

While many coffee roasters treat their blends like inferior products and cut costs with lower-quality beans, we craft ours from a carefully-curated selection of coffees that are outstanding on their own. Our house blends are an expression of the coffees we want to offer and drink every day. In many ways, we stake our reputation on them.

Each House Blend is balanced, nuanced, and expressive of the characteristics we love to taste across the roasting spectrum, whether it's time to kick-start a morning hike with a lively and invigorating cup of Early Bird or sink into a rich, robust mug of Tavern.

Try a 4oz bag of each of our four House Blends to find your favorite or match your mood.

  • Rebel Roast — Signature Blend
  • Early Bird — Light Blend
  • Better — Medium Blend
  • Tavern — Dark Blend
  • Whole Bean
  • Espresso (Fine)
  • Pourover (med)
  • French Press (Coarse)

My Favorite

Our house usually had regular old Starbucks dark roast. I didn't like it and wanted to find one I would really like. I tried a few brands of beans and already ground coffee, some in cans. They were ok. Better than the Starbucks. Then I got lucky. Ordered this Yirgacheffe. Had no real idea what it would be like. I loved it. Ordered 3 lbs twice. Next I wanted to buy a smaller quantity, so I tried another brand of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, a pound, medium roasted. It was just not the same at all. Maybe the roast was a little too light, I don't know. I found it slightly sour tasting and a bit bitter. It even hurt my stomach. So maybe it was just too light of a roast. I'm going back to Green Dragon Yirgacheffe, bought 5 lbs. I make coffee in a French press. I coarse grind. The coffee is a nice brown color with a bit of crema on top. I add a little cream and a small amount of sugar. It's so good. No sourness, no bitterness, and no stomach ache. Best coffee I have ever tasted.
